Nirmala Rai is an accomplished Nepali trail and ultrarunner with a strong record across mountain races in Nepal and international competitions in Asia.

Her standout achievements include 1st place at the Red Panda Marathon 44.2K, 1st place at the Mundum Ultra Trail Race 60K, 1st place at the Manjushri Trail Race 100 Mile, and 1st place at the Everest View Trail Marathon 47K. She has also earned 2nd place at the Trishuli Ultra Trail Marathon 55K, 2nd place at the Rama Roshan Sky 28K in 2026, and 2nd place at the Shillong Ultra Trail Race 55K in 2025.

Internationally, Nirmala finished 2nd at the Danao Ultra Trail 100K in the Philippines and placed 9th at the HK100 55K in Hong Kong in 2025, adding valuable international racing experience to an already impressive endurance résumé.

Nirmala has now been given the opportunity to represent Nepal at APTRC 2026 in China. Competing at this international event gives her the chance to test herself against strong athletes from across the region, gain further international experience, and proudly showcase Nepal’s growing trail-running community.

Kalpana Budha is an accomplished Nepali trail and ultrarunner with a strong record of podium finishes across demanding mountain races in Nepal, India, and Hong Kong.

Her recent achievements include 1st place at the Jumla Rara Ultra Marathon 54K in 2026, following another 1st-place finish at the Jumla Rara Ultra Marathon in 2025. She also won the Pokhara ULTRA 55K in 2025 and took 1st place at the Malnad Ultra 30K in India in 2024.

Kalpana has consistently performed at a high level in some of Nepal’s most challenging races. She finished 3rd at the Manjushree Trail Race 50K in 2026, after placing 2nd in the same 50K event in 2025. Her other notable results include 3rd at the Annapurna Marathon in 2025, 3rd at the Chhayanath Trail Ultra 33K in 2026, and 2nd at the Nepal Pokhara 50K in 2024.

Her international experience also includes the Hong Kong 100 – Half 50K in 2026, where she finished 10th among women, further strengthening her experience competing beyond Nepal.

Kalpana has now earned the opportunity to represent Nepal at APTRC 2026 in China. This opportunity allows her to compete on an international stage, gain valuable experience alongside athletes from across the region, and proudly showcase the strength and potential of Nepal’s trail-running community.

Pushpa Sherma Limbu is a highly active Nepali trail runner whose 2026 season has included races across Nepal as well as international competition in Hong Kong. From fast 5K and 10K events to demanding 50K–60K mountain races, Pushpa has demonstrated impressive versatility, consistency, and determination on the trails.

She began 2026 strongly in Hong Kong, finishing 4th overall and 1st in her category at the Gurkha Trailblazer 12K, followed by 3rd overall and 1st in her category at the Four Mini Trails HK 16K.

Back in Nepal, Pushpa continued an exceptionally busy racing season with strong performances across the country. Her achievements include first-place category finishes at the Nuwakot Half Marathon, Mundum Trail Race 45K, RunUKU Tangting Marathon, Pokhara Night Run 5K, Shikar Pokhari Run 5K, RunUKU Himalayan Verge 30K, 7th Joint Guerrilla Trail 60K, RunUKU Kathmandu Wild Trails 30K, RunUKU Thunder Peaks Trail Race 30K, RunUKU Mountain Pulse Kathmandu 30K, and RunUKU Pokhara Panorama Trail Race 30K.

Her endurance résumé also includes the Manjushree Trail Race 51K, completed in 9:09:28, and the Jumla Rara Ultra Marathon 54K, completed in 8:11:22. She has competed across very different terrain—from the hills around Kathmandu and Pokhara to the demanding trails of Bhojpur, Rolpa, Jumla, and international courses in Hong Kong.

Pushpa's 2026 season reflects what trail running is built upon: consistency, resilience, hard work, and the willingness to keep showing up for the next challenge.

Manju Sunuwar began her running journey in 2024 at the Stupa to Stupa 35K, where she finished 4th place. What started as a challenging debut quickly became the foundation of a growing trail and endurance running career. Since then, she has continued to test herself across road races, trail races, vertical races, ultras, and Backyard Ultra competition.

Her growing race résumé includes strong performances such as 2nd place in the Manjushree Trail Race 10K, 7th place in the Manjushree Trail Race 50K, 3rd place in One Run 21.1K, 2nd place in the 7th Swayambhu Run 5K, 5th place in the Budhanilkantha Open Road Race 10K, and 8th place in the Trishuli Ultra 59K.

Manju has also earned several other notable results, including 2nd place in the Nepal Khelkud Mahasangha 5K, 2nd place in the 5K Yatra Run, 3rd place in the 7K Yatra Run, 2nd place in a Budhanilkantha 10K race, 2nd place in the Kantipur Run 7K, 7th place in the Sindhupalchok Trail Race 28K, 7th place in the Kathmandu 25K, 5th place in the Kantipur Run 21K, 6th place in the Sailung Ultra Race 55K, and 1st place in the KTM Vertical Race 6K.

One of the formats that best reflects Manju’s mindset is Backyard Ultra, where runners must return to the start line over and over again, one loop every hour. At Backyard ULTRA Nepal 3.0, she completed 14 loops, setting the female national record, a performance that highlights her resilience, discipline, and determination to keep pushing beyond her limits.

Manju has now earned the opportunity to represent Nepal at APTRC 2026 in China. This is an important opportunity for her to compete on an international stage, gain valuable racing experience, and proudly represent Nepal’s growing trail-running community.

Milan Rai is an experienced Nepali trail and ultrarunner whose journey has taken him from the high-altitude trails of the Himalayas to major international races across Asia and Europe.

His racing career includes strong performances at the Everest Marathon, where he finished 9th in the 42K in 2022, improved to 6th in 2023, and later placed 2nd in the Everest Marathon 70K. He has also earned podium finishes including 2nd at the 33K Sky Race, 3rd at the Manjushree 24K, and 2nd at the Fishtail Race 42K.

Milan’s experience extends deep into the ultrarunning world. He has completed the 310K Solukhumbu Trail Race, Pokhara Ultra 100K, HK100 90K in Hong Kong, and an impressive 24 loops at Backyard Ultra, demonstrating the endurance, discipline, and mental strength required for long-distance competition.

His racing journey has also taken him internationally. He competed in the Asian Trail Master 80K in Malaysia, as well as major European trail races including the Obertauern Trail Race Summit 70K and KAT100 by UTMB 48K in Austria.

Other races in his extensive resume include the Gurilla Marathon 46K, Safal Marathon 42K, Jumla–Rara Ultra Marathon, Saga Dawa Race 35K, Mundum Trail Race 60K, Shivapuri Trail Run 17K, Langtang Trail Race 32K, and many more across Nepal.

Now Milan is preparing for another important opportunity: APTRC 2026 in China, where he will have the chance to compete on an international stage and represent Nepal’s growing trail-running community.

Diwakar Budha Magar is a young Nepali trail runner who has steadily progressed through short-distance trail races, mountain challenges, ultras, and Backyard Ultra events since beginning his competitive journey.

His race experience includes 12th place at the Sindhupalchowk Mear Cup 15K in 2022, 4th at the Sindhupalchowk International Trail Race 28K in 2023, 2nd at the Panchase 7K in Pokhara in 2023, and 5th at the KVR Summit Challenge 30K in 2023.

In 2024, Diwakar continued building his endurance with 6th place at Stupa to Stupa 35K, 4th at the Manjushree Trail Race 10K, and participation in the Mountain Cross Country Pokhara 50K. He also tested himself in the Backyard Ultra format, completing 13 loops, followed by 9 loops at Backyard Ultra Nepal in 2026.

His recent results show continued improvement, including 8th at the Manjushree ITR 50K in 2025, 4th at the KVR Summit Challenge 20K in 2025, 3rd at the KVR Summit Challenge 25K in 2026, 2nd at the Sindhupalchowk ITR 28K in 2026, 9th at the Manjushree ITR 50K in 2026, and 2nd at the Everest Day Night Run 7.8K in 2026.

Diwakar has now earned the opportunity to represent Nepal at APTRC 2026 in China. This opportunity gives him valuable international racing experience while allowing him to represent the next generation of Nepalese trail runners on a larger competitive stage.

Bishal Rai is an accomplished Nepali trail and ultrarunner with strong results across some of Nepal’s most demanding mountain races.

His major achievements include 1st place at the International Manjushree Trail Race 100K, overall winner at the International Red Panda Trail Marathon 48K, 1st place at the Timbung Pokhari Trail Race, and 1st place at the Kanchanjangha 42K.

Bishal has also earned several strong podium and top finishes, including 2nd at the Langtang Trail Run 32K, 2nd at the Mundum Trail Race 40K, 3rd at the Fishtail Trail Race 42K, 4th at the Kanchanjangha Trail Race 21K, 4th at the Pokhara International Mountain Cross Country Competition 50K, and 7th at the Jumla Rara Ultra Marathon 51K.

His endurance experience also includes completing Pokhara ULTRA 100K in 2025 and the Hong Kong 100K in 2025, adding valuable long-distance and international racing experience to his record.

Bishal has now earned the opportunity to represent Nepal at APTRC 2026 in China. This gives him the chance to compete on an international stage, gain further experience against strong regional athletes, and help showcase the depth of Nepal’s trail-running talent.

Lokendra Rai is an experienced Nepali trail and endurance runner with a broad racing background that spans mountain ultras, international trail races, multi-day events, and road running.

His trail-running experience includes TMBT 80K in 2024 and TMBT 50K in 2025, as well as participation in the Mustang Trail Race in 2025 and 2026, the Manaslu Trail Race in 2024, and the Fishtail Trail Race in 2025. He also completed the Pokhara Ultra 50K in 2025 and has raced the Manjushree 50K in 2023, 2024, and 2025, showing consistency and commitment to long-distance trail running.

Internationally, Lokendra completed the Hong Kong 100K in 2025, adding valuable overseas ultrarunning experience to his résumé. He has also competed in the Lisikot Tugunagadi Mountain Trail Race 24K and numerous road-running events, including Right to Protein 21K, Galfutar Half Marathon 21K, Godawari Half Marathon 21K, One Run 10K, Golden Athletes 10K/5K, and Posilo Lalitpur 3K.
