All city accommodations are with 5-STAR-rated hotels. Village Stay will be at a Homestay to experience the local hospitality, with an executive hotel stay experience at Lomanthang.

What’s not included

❌ International Airfare: The trip begins and ends in Kathmandu. The city code for Kathmandu is KTM. NOTE: Departure from the USA on March 19 may be required in order to arrive on March 21.

❌ Travel Insurance: Due to the nature and surrounding of this destination, a minimum coverage requirement for Medical Evacuation is required,

❌ Meals not listed

❌ Nepal Travel Visa: This can be secured prior to departure, or upon arrival at the Kathmandu Airport.

❌ 8 Day Trekking: Optional Himalayan Trek Extension - all meals are included, accommodations in tea houses, professional trekking guide.

DAY-TO-DAY Travel SCHEDULE:

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu. (May 9th, 2026)

Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you will need to pay for your local Nepal Visa ($30USD). Locate the payment kiosk and secure your visa. (You can also secure visa before arrival). Proceed to Passport Control. Our company's representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport,

Kathmandu, Nepal. He will be displaying the “Alpine Trail Race” LOGO  Flag right in front of the airport terminal for your arrival, and you will be transferred to your respective Hotel by private

tourist vehicle. The drive to the hotel is 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. 

Evening dinner on your own.

Day 2: Explore Kathmandu. (May 10th, 2026)

During your rest day in Kathmandu, you'll take a break from your journey to relax and recharge.

 We will go on a cultural sightseeing tour around the Kathmandu valley. Today's tour lists:

Day 4: Fly to Pokhara/ Drive to Chusang (May 12th, 2025)

Today will present the optional opportunity to experience the Himalayas from the air (extra cost). For those interested, an early wake up call will get you to the airport for a flight to see Mount Everest, and potential views of the other 8000 meter mountain peaks. You will be back in time for breakfast before heading out to  Boudhanath – a massive Buddhist shrine considered the biggest stupa in the world. We will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square - see the temple of the Living Goddess (Kumari) and other medieval architectural wonders. Post Visit we will have lunch at a local restaurant.  The balance of the day at your leisure. Dinner on your own. (B,L)

The flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara will take approximately 25 minutes. Guests will be met by our local partner, ULTRA TRAILS NEPAL, rep. You will get picked up from the Airport, and then on a reserved four-wheeler, you will be transported to Chusang.

It is surrounded by gigantic red, orange and silver gray cliffs spotted with cave dwellings. The village consists of three different hamlets: north of the Narshing river is Tangma, to the south of it is Braga, and west of Braga, towards the Kali Gandaki, is Cikyab.

You will rest here to acclimatize to the altitude, and this is where your pre starts. Your body will need to adjust to the altitude and the weather of the surrounding place. This place is situated at an altitude of 2,980 to 3,040 meters.

Day 5: Drive to Ghilang (May 13th, 2026)

A Couple of hours' 4WD drive from Chusang will take us to a serene Ghiling village, Mustang.

 Nestled in the heart of the remote Upper Mustang region of Nepal, Ghiling village is a hidden helmet that boasts stunning natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and a peaceful way of life. Ghiling village of Mustang located at an altitude of 3,570 meters / 11713 feet above sea level.


Check in at the local hotel, freshen up, explore the village, and rest for your next day. (B,L,D)

Day 6: Race Day (30K & 15K) May 14th, 2026

Day 5: Drive to Ghilang (May 13th, 2026)

The race will start sharp at 9 AM from Ghiling. Ghiling village is the last forbidden kingdom of Nepal. 

One of the most striking features of Ghiling village is its ancient architecture, which has remained virtually unchanged for centuries. The houses in the village are built from locally sourced materials, including stone, mud, and wood and are constructed using traditional building techniques.


Your race start altitude will start at approx. 3500 meter, you will then run thorough Lo Gekar Gompa (or Ghar Gumba)  which is one of the oldest and most significant Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in Upper Mustang, Nepal, dating back to the 8th century and built by Guru Rinpoche, contemporaneous with Tibet's Samyé Monastery, known for its ancient murals, chortens, and unique history as a "house monastery".You will then make your way to the summit of the race at 4280 meters; and make your way to thr finish line at your final destination, Lomanthang at approx. 3800 meters.

Enjoy Tiji Festival, explore Lomanthang. 

The festival started over 300 years ago as a celebration of the victory of good over evil. 

Tiji Festival is the grand Tibetan-Buddhist festival celebrated in the Lo-Manthang City of Upper Mustang. The festival remains endemic to the people of Upper Mustang. The term "Tiji" stands for “Tenchi." Both of these are the short forms of Tenpa Chirim, which means prayer for world peace.

Lo Manthang, the walled capital of former Upper Mustang, offers attractions centered on Tibetan Buddhist culture, ancient monasteries, and unique landscapes, with key sights including the Royal Palace, historic monasteries like Thubchen Gompa, the ancient Sky Caves, and vibrant cultural events like the Tiji Festival, all set amidst dramatic desert scenery.

Day 8: Drive to Jomsom. (May 17th, 2026)

Today, after breakfast you will say your goodbye to amazing Lomanthang, and drive to Jomsom

Jomsom is the starting point of the scenic trekking routes in Upper Mustang and Manang. The diverse landscape and culture found along this trekking route give marvellous insight into the way of life of Nepali people of various ethnic groups. 

The highlight in and around Jomson is the deepest gorge in the world, carved by the Kali Gandaki River, which originates in the Tibetan plateau to eventually flow into the Ganges in India. You can also visit a sacred glacier lake, " Lake Dhumba". Dhumba Lake is a small, sacred Buddhist lake near Jomsom, Nepal, known for its beautiful emerald-blue water, peaceful setting, and significance to both Buddhists and Hindus, located about 6 km west in Thini village, offering stunning views against the backdrop of Mt. Nilgiri and a unique cultural experience in the Mustang region. 


You will check into one of the pristine hotels of Jomson and rest for the day and enjoy the surroundings. (B,L,D)

Day 9: Fly to Pokhara. (May 18th, 2026)

Flying back to Pokhara is a captivating experience, with the Himalayas coming into view and the city's vibrant blend of tradition and modernity welcoming you. 


The flight depends on the mountain weather, so if the fligh gets cancelled, we will get the four whell jeep and make our way to Pokhara City.

Day 10: Fly Back to Kathmandu (May 19th, 2026)

Day 11 - Day 16: Trek Namche - Tengboche - Fly Back to KTM (May 20th - May 26th, 2026)

Today you will take an Early Morning Flight to Kathmandu. 


Tonight there will be a farewell dinner for you at your hotel of stay. A blend of traditional dance and authentic Nepali cuisine, we will reflect back on our run and retreat program and share the good and the bad experiences. Hopefully, most of us will take back home good memories to last a lifetime.

Enjoy your last Nepalese breakfast before being picked up for your ride back to the airport. Grab your last minute gifts. Be sure you collected your passport. (B)

Today marks either a fond farewell—with memories to last a lifetime—or the beginning of new adventures on the trek to Namche Bazaar and Tyangboche.

For those not joining the trek, thank you for being part of this journey. We wish you safe travels—your hotel pickup for the airport will be about 3 hours before departure.


This morning, we take a helicopter from Kathmandu to Lukla, ensuring a smooth and timely arrival in the heart of the Himalayas. Greeted by our Sherpa team, we set off toward Phakding along scenic trails of forests and rivers. Porters will meet us there with your gear, leaving you free to enjoy the journey with only a light day pack. Pack an extra T-shirt, socks, and some dry snacks to take with you.

Accommodations: The Himalayan – Phakding  Trekking time: ~3 hours  Distance: 4.7 miles (7.5 km)

In this Journey, you will once again hike through a colorful rhododendron forest and enjoy the majestic views of  Kwangde (6,011m), Thamserku (6,623m), Kangtega (6,782m), Nuptse (7,861m), Lhotse (8,516m), Ama Dablam (6,812m), and, of course, Mount Everest (8,848m).  

You will also get to see the elusive locally beleived to be YETI's Scalp at Khumjung Monastery along the way.
